Dan Driscoll approached eBusiness Media with the challenge of creating a compelling and explanatory animated video that would share the concept of ‘Anou‘ in a simple and charming manner. Anou is an exciting platform that will open up trade to rural areas in the developing world, offering an online market place of incredible hand made items to established markets. Anou aims to put the power of commerce into the hands of artisans in the developing world commanding a shift in the way items are traded. This has been a big task and one that has required Dan to work directly with artisans in the most remote of locations – often with little or no access to the internet:

I have to admit, I’m not the easiest client to deal with. My business takes me to some really rural areas in Africa where Internet may or may not be available. And when it is available, it is spotty and may not even be working for an extended period of time. It was in this environment that I approached James to help me create a video that would take a complicated topic and distill it into a short, yet powerful video. Despite numerous dropped Skype calls, and many other technical challenges, James was a complete professional through it all and ended up doing an amazing job. This is some seriously impressive stuff. Yeah, okay – for the advanced video editors out there its not going to be much use. But what this clever little thing is capable of really blows my mind.

Not only that, but this cloud based editing suit offers effects such as video stablisation, contrast, brightness and black and white.

As I mentioned earlier – for the advanced video editors of us out there, this wont be of much use. But for the millions who cant afford a video editing package or dont have the time / inclination to learn their way around such software; YouTube video editors opens up to anyone the ability to create acceptable quality video and publish it in real time.
